about dr. feickert analogue
Dr. Feickert Analogue was founded in 2005 by Christian Feickert, a German physicist and chemist, and builds turntables and analog setup tools from March-Buchheim near Freiburg in southwest Germany. The engineering emphasis is measurement-driven: heavy, well-damped plinths and bearings designed for speed stability, plus alignment and setup instruments that grew out of the same precision focus. The turntable line runs from the entry Volare up through the Woodpecker and Blackbird to the multi-armboard Firebird, spanning roughly $4,000 to over $15,000. Many of the decks accommodate two or three tonearms on swappable armboards, which has made them a favorite among listeners who want to compare cartridges and arms on one platform. The company is equally known for its analog setup tools, including the PlatterSpeed app for measuring speed accuracy and wow-and-flutter, plus alignment protractors and adjustment gauges used well beyond its own turntable owners. In the US market Dr. Feickert competes with mid-to-upper analog makers like VPI, SME, and Pro-Ject's high-end line, positioned where engineering rigor and multi-arm flexibility matter more than cosmetics. US distribution runs through MoFi Distribution, formerly handled by VANA Ltd., with strong dealer presence including Upscale Audio. The press record includes multiple reviews in Stereophile, The Absolute Sound, and Positive Feedback, making it a name serious US analog dealers recognize. Design, machining, and assembly are handled in Germany.
