about esprit high end audio
Esprit High End Audio was founded in 1996 by Richard Cesari in Confolens, in the Charente region of southwest France. Cesari began building cables for himself and then for friends before turning it into a company, and the brand has stayed a hand-built operation: every interconnect, speaker cable, and power cord is assembled in-house in France rather than outsourced. The range is organized as an ascending ladder of lines, including Beta, Kappa, Lumina, Celesta, and Eterna interconnects and loudspeaker cables, plus Alpha and matching power cords, with conductor metallurgy and geometry stepping up through the series. The line covers analog interconnects, speaker cable, digital and power cabling, so a system can be wired end to end within one house voice. Esprit sits as an established second-tier import in the high-end cable field, competing with the likes of Nordost, Kubala-Sosna, and Cardas at the mid-to-upper price points rather than the cost-no-object extreme. US distribution runs through Rutherford Audio of Englewood, Colorado, giving the brand a real dealer path stateside. Named-press coverage includes The Absolute Sound's review of the Lumina interconnects and loudspeaker cable, alongside features at hi-fi+, HiFi Pig, 6moons, and Mono & Stereo. The brand exhibits at HIGH END in Vienna for 2026. Production remains entirely in Confolens, France.
