about finkteam
FinkTeam is the in-house loudspeaker brand of Karl-Heinz Fink, a German engineer whose consultancy spent decades designing and voicing speakers for other manufacturers before he put his own name on the cabinet. The brand emerged at the 2016 Munich High End show with the WM-3 and has grown deliberately, releasing a new model only when the engineering justified it. The range is short by design. The KIM is a stand-mount two-way built around an AMT tweeter and a paper-cone mid-bass driver in a sealed cabinet; the Borg is a larger floor-standing three-way; and the WM-4 sits at the top of the line. Each leans on Fink's driver-development background and on extensive in-room measurement rather than on exotic materials or large driver counts. The company also acquired and revived the Epos loudspeaker name as a separate, more affordable line. FinkTeam occupies the engineer-led tier of the German loudspeaker market, competing with the country's other measurement-focused and OEM-rooted makers. US distribution runs through Blink High End, part of the Matterhorn Audio Group in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The KIM and Borg have been reviewed widely across US and UK enthusiast press, including Positive Feedback, Stereo Times, Dagogo, HiFi Pig, Enjoy the Music, and the UK hi-fi titles. Design and assembly are carried out in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with the design studio in Essen.
