about oephi
OePhi is a Danish boutique loudspeaker and cable maker founded and run by Joakim Juhl, who designs, voices, and oversees the hand-building of every model. The design principle is summed up in the house phrase "Timing is Everything": OePhi prioritizes phase coherence and time-domain behavior — driver integration, crossover slope choice, and mechanical and acoustic damping — over the flat anechoic curve that dominates conventional speaker marketing. Juhl began developing his own cable conductors in 2007, and that materials work feeds back into the loudspeaker line. The range centers on full-size floorstanding loudspeakers, with the Transcendence models at the top and the more recent Lounge 2 and Lounge 2.5 bringing the same design language to a lower price point. The catalog extends into matching cables built on the same low-distortion, timing-first thinking. OePhi occupies the second-tier import slot: known and respected among European and US enthusiasts and reviewers, but not a household name at the McIntosh or Wilson level. It competes in the small-Danish-high-end conversation alongside makers like Audiovector, GamuT, and Raidho.
