Riviera Audio Laboratories was founded by engineer-designer Luca Chiomenti and Silvio Delfino, who handles sales and public relations, both of them based on the Italian Riviera that gives the company its name. The design philosophy centers on hybrid topology — valves for voltage gain, solid-state devices for the power stage — run with zero overall feedback and a focus on pure class-A operation. The range covers integrated and separate amplification. The Levante integrated amplifier is the best-known model, a hybrid pure-class-A design with a front-panel switch that lets the owner choose between class-A and class-AB operation; in class A it delivers 2x30W into 8 ohms, rising to 2x120W in class AB. The separates line includes the APL10 preamplifier and the AFM25 power amplifier, carrying the same hybrid, low-feedback approach. Riviera competes in the upper hybrid-amplifier tier against makers like Pathos, Aesthetix, and VAC, differentiating on the switchable class-A/AB output stage and Italian build. US distribution is handled by Tone Imports.
