Founded in 1984 by engineer Andy Payor in Rockport, Maine — originally as Payor Acoustics, renamed Rockport Technologies in 1990 alongside the internationally acclaimed Sirius Phonograph turntable. Payor's philosophy centres on eliminating every source of cabinet resonance and mechanical noise, using aerospace composite materials and custom-engineered drive units. The Arrakis and Orion flagships are consistently ranked among the finest loudspeakers in the world by the specialist press.
